The next hockey season will be one of new coaches. At least 6 NHL teams will coached by a new member of their organization. What does all this mean? I think it means that players are big babies! Every time that a player is not scoring it is the coaches fault..I don’t get it..

For every reason, it is always the coach that pays in the end. Like they says, it is a lot easier to replace one guy than replacing 20 players. That might be true, but sometime it is worth being patient.

And yes I do agree that assistant coaches cannot be head coach with the same team..the job is so different..You go from the happy pat your players on the back guy, to a different personality…anyway..

I think teams give up too soon on their coaching staff..Another example? Alain Vigneault, the coach of the Vancouver Canucks. Last year he won the Jack Addams award for best coach in the NHL, and this year since his team missed the playoffs by a couple of points, there is talk about firing him?? I mean come on!!!!  He has only been there 2 years!!!

Does a new coach change things for a team? If it happens in the season, they will probably win a couple of games and then go back to their habits.. Other times there is a guy like Bruce Boudreau that everybody seems to like and he actually changes the course of a season..

Should NHL coaches have a say when they sign a contract for 3 years and get canned after only one?
